Looks like Instagram is scrambling like its mother-ship Facebook to impose data access restrictions, but doing it without any warning. Understandable but puzzling to developers, given that they’ve been dealing with data scandals lately, these corrective actions though without transparency or any sort of official communication will not only hurt developers but will impact app functionalities.
The sun dotting beautifully the skyline almost always reminds me of Easter, such as this photo I took when my wife and I went to Marinduque. I remember looking at the seemingly endless horizon and I just can’t help but think about life and get that contrasting feeling of melancholy and elation. Sadness because of discouraging circumstances, happiness because I have overcome and continue to be hopeful.
Like most faithfully celebrating this meaningful day having renewed their faith, I’m thankful to be alive and that all’s well. continue reading »
If you work or live near Kapitolyo in Pasig City, there’s this trailer-turned-gastropub you can hang out for late lunch and beyond that serves hefty servings of Asian fusion and Filipino favorites. TAYO All-Day Brunch & Beer (TAYO is short for Tambayan sa Kapitolyo) also serves a mix of local and imported below zero beer and hard drinks for after office gimmicks. Aside from the witty names in the menu (they’re all instagrammable and of course delicious!), you’ll definitely love the familiar “tambayan” look and feel of the place. TAYO is located at 16-I United Street, Bgy. Kapitolyo, Pasig 1603.
Check out some of my snapshots (I was terribly late but glad I decided to drop by) when @IGersManila was invited there last February 3 for a food instameet.
Disclosure: @IGersManila’s Food Instameet was sponsored by TAYO. Here’s the rest of the #IGMNLxTayo photos.
I was doing laundry this late Sunday afternoon. When the washing machine sounded off that the drying’s done, I looked up the sky to see if there’s any sign of rain coming. Instead I saw the moon dotting the orange, cottony clouds, looking small in its crescent phase, as if growing bigger as night fell. I sat there looking at what I’d call the laundry moon, wondering how many like me on earth are staring that way. I then whispered a prayer to thank the heavens for continuing to bless us with its wonderful nature.
We’re doing a sit-down instameet (read: sit and sip coffee while talking about social phoneography) for Instagram’s Worldwide Instameet 16 #wwim16ph #wwim16 at Commune in Makati City. As the theme this time is #kindcomments, we thought of bringing back the early days of Instagram meetups, which are usually done in coffee shops or “instagrammable spots” where faceless usernames with the same passion for actually anything mobile app or online-related, meet for the first time and reveal their true identities (and later to become very good friends), and talk, exchange follows and likes, do on-the-spot editing tutorials, and snap lots of selfies and group shots.
Sign up now as seats are very limited, see you!
Last weekend, we were invited by SM City North EDSA to explore visual arts from renowned local artists via #ArtKarnival, an interactive exhibit installed at the entire stretch of the Skygarden. In partnership with Vinyl on Vinyl, one of Manila’s hippest contemporary art galleries, #ArtKarnival offers a different mall-going experience, showcasing unique masterpieces curated specially for the outdoorsy and hang-out fave Skygarden, in the hopes of attracting shoppers to appreciate and experience art first hand. continue reading »
Instagram just announced the 14th Worldwide Instameet or #wwim14 to be held over the weekend of September 17 to 18 and this time it’s a call for communities of Instagram’ers around the world to celebrate undeniably everyone’s favorite subject – food. This will not only be food porn (as anything excessive in social media’s tagged with that “p” word), there’s going to be a lot of foodgasm and food orgy! continue reading »
