All the power banks I’ve ever owned, of different shapes and sizes, brands and capacities, have either bloated and doubled in size, or just plain stopped working. I rarely bring one when I go out, but these days you can never tell when you’re going to need one. Like last month when we were out of town, there was a power outage that lasted for two days. Of course, we all run out of batteries on our devices by then. A scary situation especially when in emergencies. Good thing there are now more choices for power banks that use newer and better technology. And one brand that I particularly like is Anker, well-known in the world for producing high-quality, portable chargers and batteries. I’ve been eyeing the Anker 622 Magnetic Battery MagGo, it’s not the latest model though still pricey, it’s the snap-and-charge power bank and foldable kickstand rolled into one that’s also great for chilling.
I stayed up until the clock hits 12mn on February 2 to add to cart and check out the Anker 622 Magnetic Battery MagGo at Lazada’s 2.2 Feb-Ibig Fest. I got it with a huge discount plus vouchers that waived the shipping fees. So yes, I enjoyed gadget shopping and got huge savings!
The Anker 622 MagGo is originally designed for the iPhone 12 series (with magnets for Magsafe charging) but it still works for succeeding models, such as my iPhone 13 Pro Max, and it now doubles as my power bank, when I need the extra boost, and kickstand, for hands-free viewing. This power bank has a 5000 mA battery and is also Qi-certified for wireless charging. With its built-in kickstand, you have a good portrait viewing angle, though you can still use it landscape. The kickstand cleverly folds into the back of the battery pack keeping it slim and compact. It is packaged with a USB-C to USB-C charging cable.

The sleek, easy-grip design of the Anker 622 MagGo is only 0.5 thick. It has this soft rubbery feel, though it might get too warm when used by hand while charging, so I usually just keep it in the foldable kickstand, which is stable enough to support any iPhone big or small, either in portrait or landscape orientations. I’ve been using it to catch up on missed episodes of my favorite television series, while the phone’s being charged.
Like most Anker products, it’s also designed with safety features, such as over-charge protection and short-circuit protection. That’s going to prevent the very common bloated, oversized power banks of the past. It turns on automatically when you snap it to the phone and turns off automatically when the phone is fully charged.
It’s slim and compact, and easy to carry around yet equally stylish with three color options. I initially wanted the blue color but still opted for my favorite black. It does look good when attached to my phone.
So whether at home or on the go or chilling someplace else, better be safe than sorry and avoid losing your phone’s juice and miss out. The Anker 622 MagGo is a snappy saver when you need your phone charged fast and on the go.
