Easiest and fastest iOS update
The iOS 5.0.1 update (for Apple’s iDevices) was released early this morning and since iOS 5 added this cool feature of OTA (over-the-air) and Mac/PC-free syncing, I checked my iPhone 4 (via Settings \ General \ Software Update) if it can sniff the update from my location - it did.
Will this be the end of the Globe-iPhone monopoly?

iOS 5 is out!
Yes, Apple’s iOS 5 is released as expected at around 1:00AM, 13-Oct-2011 (PHT / GMT +8:00). iOS 5 offers an overload of 200 new features including iMessage, Notification Center, Newsstand, Reminders and that Twitter thingy.
iCloud is now online out of beta and offers those who are able to log in (I did using my iTunes US account) a sneak peek at the look and feel of the website. Only Find My iPhone is clickable and working, the rest - Mail, Contacts, Calendar, and iWork - requires that you upgrade your account by updating to iOS 5 and OS X Lion. iOS 5 is scheduled for release today, so the waiting continues…
Nah, it’s iPhone 4S!
No iPhone 5 announcement in yesterday’s Let’s Talk iPhone October 4 event, but Apple says it’s “picking up where amazing left off.” So the rumor’s true - it’s an iPhone 4 with the internals greatly enhanced, the iPhone 4S features:
- Dual-core A5 chip delivers even more power
- 8MP camera with all-new optics also shoots 1080p HD video
- iOS 5 and iCloud
- Siri, iPhone 4S does what you ask
Many are saying they’ll be skipping this one. Already? I strongly doubt it. Though I’m more excited to get iOS5 for my still beautiful-in-black iPhone 4 this coming October 12.
It’s all about the iPhone on October 4 (10AM Pacific Time) and all eyes on Tim Cook gracing the event as Apple’s CEO for the first time.
