Instagram that #KindComments!

We’re doing a sit-down instameet (read: sit and sip coffee while talking about social phoneography) for Instagram’s Worldwide Instameet 16 #wwim16ph #wwim16 at Commune in Makati City. As the theme this time is #kindcomments, we thought of bringing back the early days of Instagram meetups, which are usually done in coffee shops or “instagrammable spots” where faceless usernames with the same passion for actually anything mobile app or online-related, meet for the first time and reveal their true identities (and later to become very good friends), and talk, exchange follows and likes, do on-the-spot editing tutorials, and snap lots of selfies and group shots.

Sign up now as seats are very limited, see you!

Instagram’ing with multiple accounts

Initially tested and supported on the Android platform late last year, Instagram has finally made multiple account switching available on both iOS and Android versions with the 7.15 app update. One of its highly requested feature, this is definitely a welcome relief for professional photographers, social media managers, and small business owners, who maintain more than one Instagram account. This is great news, especially for community managers such as myself, as this means you can now manage up to five Instagram accounts using only one mobile device. Awesome timing as well that it was announced and gradually rolled out on the Chinese New Year holiday. Continue Reading →

Instagram welcomes landscape and portrait snapshots

I woke up to the sound of continuous notifs from my iPhone as fellow Instagram’ers are abuzz with talks about this unprecedented move by Instagram to finally support landscape and portrait formats, well aside from the usual square, updating its app to version 7.5 for both iOS and Android.

It’s not an unwelcome change but it seem to have surprised IGers as Instagram has been known for its square-only format since day one, and you’ll have to make do with the white (or black) space or border when choosing to upload “squared” photos in landscape or portrait orientation.
