Last weekend, we were invited by SM City North EDSA to explore visual arts from renowned local artists via #ArtKarnival, an interactive exhibit installed at the entire stretch of the Skygarden. In partnership with Vinyl on Vinyl, one of Manila’s hippest contemporary art galleries, #ArtKarnival offers a different mall-going experience, showcasing unique masterpieces curated specially for the outdoorsy and hang-out fave Skygarden, in the hopes of attracting shoppers to appreciate and experience art first hand.
#ArtKarnival features art pieces from young artists Anjo Bolarda, Bato, Blic, Garapata, Jeffrey Jay Jarin, Tyang Karyel, VOV Studio, and Whooop, carefully selected and placed in areas where they will both blend and stand out and make you take a second look.
Now more than just a shopping center in the North, with SM City North EDSA’s #ArtKarnival exhibit, you can do an art stroll or photowalk at the Skygarden with your cameraphone ready, and check out and interact with the art installations that surely you won’t miss as they’ll pop out like cartoon characters calling your full attention. They’re interactive — you can touch, sit, take photos non-stop, even play games — so be sure to bring your family and friends.
It’s summer and if you’ll be at SM City North EDSA, it’s best to explore #ArtKarnival at the Skygarden in the morning. Aside from the exhibit, which runs until 12-June-2017, there are fun activities and art workshops (mostly weekends) you can join.
